Lancia is an Italian automobile manufacturer founded in 1906 by Vincenzo Lancia as Lancia & C.. It became part of the Fiat Group in 1969; the current company, Lancia Automobiles S.p.A., was established in 2007.
The company has a strong rally heritage and is noted for using letters of the Greek alphabet for its model names.
In January 2014, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne intimated that Lancia cars would no longer be sold outside of Italy.

When the FIA Group B finally took life all the previous Group 4 cars resulted out of date and all manufacturers had to create something new for the homologation in the new rules that allowed much more freedom. Lancia at that time was running with the Stratos that in 1982 was substituted by the 037 Rally. It was very light and agile thus that in the 1983 it won the World Championship, the European and the Italian one.
But the Audi was optimizing its revolutionary racing 4WD system so that from the 1984 it was really difficult to compete against it with a simple RWD.
Lancia and almost all other manufacturers had to adapt their prototype to 4WD and indeed Lancia and Peugeot focused the target by creating 2 mid engine prototypes that for the rest of the time they lived made a series of battles that shone the heavy nose Audi a bit in shadows.
Lancia created the S4 (Sovralimentata, 4WD) that was basically an updated 037 with similar suspensions, a new spaceframe with lighter alloy and composite materials, a new 4WD drivetrain and a new powertrain. Lancia filed many patents for the S4.
Some reguarded the AWD system that used a transfer case to asymmetrically split the torque between the two axles while one reguarded the twin charging system that force the air induction with a compressor at mid-low engine speed and with a turbine at higher ones. As soon as the turbine has spooled up, the compressor was pneumatically bypassed, to allow the turbine to operate without thermodynamic efficiency losses typical of the compressor at higher rpms.
The first S4 official race was Algrave, Portugal in 31 October 1985 when Lancia hadn't produced yet the 200 street versions of the car requested to homologate the race one. The FIA anticipated its homologation to allow Lancia to participate to the championship that was starting but no one knows if Lancia has ever produced all the 200 "Stradale" models...
By the way, within 1985 and 1986, Lancia and other competitors, working on those and other technical innovations like tires compound and aerodynamic efficiency, raised safety and performance level of rally cars by several points.

The Lancia Rally (Tipo 151, also known as the Lancia Rally 037, Lancia 037 or Lancia-Abarth #037 from its Abarth project code 037) was a mid-engine sports car and rally car built by Lancia in the early 1980s to compete in the FIA Group B World Rally Championship. Driven by Attilio Bettega, and Walter Röhrl, the car won Lancia the manufacturers' world championship in the 1983 season. It was the last rear-wheel drive car to win the WRC.
Unlike its predecessor, the V6-powered Lancia Stratos HF, the first 037s had a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder supercharged engine. Based on the long stroke twin cam engine which powered earlier Fiat Abarth 131 rally cars, the four valve head was carried over from the 131 Abarth but the original two carburetors were replaced by a single large Weber carburetor in early models and later with fuel injection. The 037 features a ZF transaxle.

The 037 Stradale was made to homologate its rally version into the radical Group B WRC class. Thus, it featured all the hallmarks of a no-compromise race car, but with regard to passenger car regulations.
Only 207 copies of the Stradale were built, and after homologation was granted many were converted to full-on competition cars. All the Stradales were painted in Red and some came with a matte black rear wing, while others came with no wing at all to increase rearward visibility.

Presented in June 1993, the second Evolution version of the Delta HF Integrale featured an updated version of the 2-litre 16-valve turbo engine to produce more power, as well as a three-way catalyst and Lambda probe.
The addition of the catalyst did not penalise performance.Indeed, the Evoluzione II produced more power and torque than its predecessor, the Evoluzione I.

An F1 car for rally is one way to classify this robust, any condition, any surface racer. From a distance it resembles its distant, much milder, yet still capable cousin the Lancia Delta. Underneath, the bloodline is pure purpose-built racecar. A supercharger and a turbocharger lay rubber from all four wheels; try not to choke on its dust.

The Lancia Fulvia is an Italian car introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 by Lancia and produced until 1976. Fulvias are notable for their role in motorsport history, including winning the International Rally Championship in 1972. On testing it in 1967, Road and Track summed up the Fulvia as a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force. Named after Fulvia Flacca Bambula, an aristocratic Roman woman and wife of Mark Antony. One element that was new was the narrow-angle V4 engine. Designed by Zaccone Mina, it used a narrow angle and was mounted well forward at a 45 angle. The engine is a DOHC design with a one camshaft operating all intake valves and another operating all exhaust valves. The very narrow angle of the cylinders allowed for use of a single cylinder head. The fulvia manages remarkably well on power giving its displacement. I believe the first car to get 100hp per litre was the ferrari 250 gto, and that was only 10 years back. The engine in the fulvia is sometimes overlooked, because of how great the whole car is, but it really is one of the most remarkable details.
S1:
Based on the Lancia fulvia 1.6HF , this particular model it has slick tires, race performance brake upgrades, and its powered by Vere Lancia. who provided the engine 818.540 with some tech specs to remark compresion 11.3:1, 2X weber 45mm, aluminium flywheel, stronger valve springs, the best camshafts, high compression pistons on lightweight conrods, spaghetti manifold, ported cylinder heads then add a good gasket and some headstuds as result of all this work lancia got this car wich we call (the Lancia Fulvia GT).

The Lancia Strato's HF (Tipo 829), widely and more simply known as Lancia Stratos, is a sports car and rally car made by Italian car manufacturer Lancia. The HF stands for High Fidelity. It was a very successful rally car, winning the World Rally Championship in 1974, 1975 and 1976.
Production ended in 1975 when it was thought that only 492 were made (for the 1976 season, the Group 4 production requirement was reduced to 400 in 24 months. The manufacturer of the car was Bertone in Turin, with final assembly by Lancia at the Chivasso plant. Powered by the Dino 2.4 L V6 engine that was also fitted to the rallying versions, but in a lower state of tune, it resulted in a power output of 190 PS; 188 bhp (140 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 226 Nm; 166 lbs-ft (23 kg⋅m) at 4,000 rpm of torque, giving the road car a 0–100 km/h (62 mph) time of 6.8 seconds, and a top speed of 232 km/h (144 mph). The car was sold as the Lancia Stratos HF Stradale.
