Honda was the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to release a dedicated luxury brand, Acura, in 1986. Aside from their core automobile and motorcycle businesses, Honda also manufactures garden equipment, marine engines, personal watercraft and power generators, and other products. Since 1986, Honda has been involved with artificial intelligence/robotics research and released their ASIMO robot in 2000. They have also ventured into aerospace with the establishment of GE Honda Aero Engines in 2004 and the Honda HA-420 HondaJet, which began production in 2012. Honda has three joint-ventures in China (Honda China, Dongfeng Honda, andGuangqi Honda).
In 2013, Honda invested about 5.7% (US$6.8 billion) of its revenues in research and development.[10] Also in 2013, Honda became the first Japanese automaker to be a net exporter to the United States, exporting 108,705 Honda and Acura models, while importing only 88,357.

Since the 2014 season onwards all cars are built to the same NGTC regulations. First introduced in 2011 for an initial 5 year period, these technical regulations are designed to dramatically reduce the design, build and running costs of the cars and engines. Only NGTC cars are now eligible to compete in the BTCC. TOCA extended these regulation for a further 6 years from 2016.
NGTC allows independent teams to compete on a level playing field against manufacturer-backed efforts by keeping costs down whilst at the same time rewarding precise engineering and all-important split-second strategy.
The foundation for NGTC is an emphasis on some common components, so turbo, wastegate, intercoolers, ECU, instrumentation and dash, power management system, six-speed sequential gearbox, fuel tanks, differential, subframe, steering, brakes, clutch, wheels, dampers and suspension, which dramatically drives down costs for teams looking to compete in one of the world's most attractive motor sport arenas.

The Honda Civic WTCC TC1 is Honda's weapon for the World Touring Car Championship in 2016.
The PTSims Modding Team is the team behind the virtual version of the car for the simulator Assetto Corsa. The mod is for exclusive use of the PTSims community in their championships. The distribution and/or use of the mod in any other communities is forbidden, as it is also forbidden the use of any part of the mod in order to gain money.
TC1 was introduced in 2014, the same year in which Citroen made its debut - a move some feel effectively handed the French manufacturer the keys to the championship. After achieving all its commercial objectives, Citroen ended its works WTCC effort last year and returned proud and triumphant to the WRC.
A holding pattern would seem to make sense, but the format's high-cost and lack of manufacturer involvement is an issue.

While its predecessor, the NSX-GT, made for easy cornering due to its mid-engine layout, it had a slight lack of stability. With the HSV-010 GT, Honda pursued both speed and stability to the limit. Many people think of the NSX as a “cornering machine,” and we were therefore determined to make the HSV-010 GT “the ultimate cornering machine” that would even surpass the NSX.
Creating an “easy-to-handle”, high performance vehicle through technology
HSV-010 GT is a front-engine rear-drive Super GT machine—an attempt that Honda has never made before. Though it was a brand-new and independent challenge, the passion put into the vehicle by our development team, with the technologies cultivated in our history with the NSX-GT, led to the creation of this easy-to-handle, but high performance machine. Newly developed technology were combined with the already proven technology from the NSX. Ideal frame performance was achieved by optimizing the rigidity balance of the main frame. As for the engine, we adopted the HR10EG, which takes the 3.4-liter V8 engine for Formula Nippon and optimizes it for Super GT.
Velocity: Speed in a Given Direction
HSV stands for Honda Sports Velocity. As the name “Velocity” suggests, the engine thrives on speed —the core of motorsports. Velocity also implies “speed in a given direction,” and the HSV-010 GT expresses the future direction of Honda racing machine development as well as the engineering team’s dedication to speed.

The fifth generation of the Honda Civic debuted in Japan on September 10, 1991. At its introduction in 1991, it won the Car of the Year Japan Award for the second time. In Japan, as well as a few other export locations, the VTi was offered with two different motors: the B16A2/3 (160 PS DOHC VTEC) and the D15B (130 PS SOHC VTEC). The D15B shares the same head as the US Civic Si (D16Z6) but features a unique block, crank, and rods. the car shared the 1.5 L displacement of the other D15 blocks, but the rods were the same length as the D16's (137mm) and a better rod to stroke ratio (1.63) rather than the normal D15's ratio of 1.59. Despite this, the crank and bearing sizes were not the same.

In 1995, Honda introduced their first Integra Type R to the Japanese domestic market.
The Honda Integra Type R DC2 came standard with a 200 PS 1.8-litre DOHC VTEC engine, known as the B18C, and other versions depending on the country where it was sold. Equipped with a close ratio 5-speed manual transmission and a Helical LSD, the DC2 Integra Type R had significantly improved performance and handling relative to the base model GS-R, Si and SiR Integra. The Type R had the minor change long headlights that remained only for the JDM models while the world market version had the pre-facelift double round lights.
The world market ITR feature virtually the same power train and engine controls as the JDM 1996 ITR. Noted differences in the exhaust manifold with the JDM ITR manifold (identical to JDM GS-R being the largest), UKDM ITR has the smallest with a unique 4 to 2 twin wall tube manifold. World ITR have a 2 inch ID cat, JDM ITR has a 2.5 inch OD cat, all ITR have 2 and 1/4 exhaust systems with 2.0 inch chock points. JDM ITR +100 RPM fuel cut to 8500 RPM. USDM ITR has a .4 reduction in Compression to 10.6 to 1 .
1998 JDM ITR have a 4 to 1 twin wall header. 1998 JDM and AuDM ITR feature a different gear (4.7) and fifth gear ratio, yielding near the same overall final gear ratio but much steeper 1 to 4th gear ratios for better take-off and response. All ITR 1998+ have a slightly larger intake cam.
The base model went through extensive changes, including a strengthened chassis with extra spot welds and thicker metal around the rear shock towers and lower subframe, weight reduction (reduced sound insulation, 10% thinner windscreen, no sunroof, lighter wheels), more power, stratospheric 8400 RPM red line, hand built engine featuring hand-polished and ported intake ports, high compression pistons with low friction coating, undercut valves and revised intake and exhaust systems, and suspension upgrades. The result was a capable sports coupe which was acclaimed by motoring journalists worldwide.

The Lola B08/80 is a Le Mans Prototype built by Lola Cars International. It is effectively the LMP2 version of the larger Lola B08/60; they are the first closed-cockpit sports prototypes built by Lola since the T92/10 of 1992. The B08/80 is optimised for the smaller engines and lighter weight of the LMP2 category in comparison to the larger and heavier B08/60.
The first chassis of the B08/80 is used by the joint Speedy Racing Team and Sebah Automotive outfits in the Le Mans Series as well as at 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team's car uses the latest V8 engine from Judd. A second car was entered by B-K Motorsports and Mazda in the American Le Mans Series, debuting at the Petit Le Mans in October 2008, while a third B08/80 chassis was sold to Ray Mallock Ltd. and completed with parts from the team's former B05/40 to create the MG-Lola EX265C for the Le Mans Series. B-K Motorsports closed shop in late 2008 and sold their car to Dyson Racing. 2009 LMS season saw the B08/80 being the 2nd fastest LMP2, behind the Essex Porsche.
Level 5 Motorsports ran their upgraded B11/80's in the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans except for Silverstone and Zhuhai. They finished third in LMP2 and tenth overall at Le Mans. Level 5 switched to the HPD ARX-01g for Petit Le Mans and continued with Honda power in 2012.
Until recently, the Lola B12/80 was still common in Le Mans Prototype racing. Gulf Racing ran a pair of B12/80s in the WEC; Dempsey Racing ran a B12/80 in the ALMS; and finally, Black Swan Racing ran the former 2011 Level 5 B11/80.
In the 2012 European Le Mans Series season, Status Grand Prix ran an upgraded B12/80, finishing 6th in the teams championship with 15 points. These came from a 3rd place at the 2012 6 Hours of Castellet.
By 2013, all teams had retired their Lola B12/80s due to uncertainty over parts support from Lola.

Utilizing a twin-turbocharged transverse V6 descended from the unit found in the road-going NSX, the car makes right around the 500 horsepower limit of the GT500 class. The NSX’s unique shape has adapted well to the aggressive aero package common in Super GT racing. In 2006, the efforts of the DOME team with the NSX would pay off, as the car won outright at Okayama. It’s worth noting that the substantially similar sister car, the #8 ARTA NSX, took second place overall in the class championship in 2005.

For use in the Super GT (formerly the JGTC), the NSX has been highly modified (as allowed by series technical regulations) with chassis development by Dome, engine development by Mugen, for Honda.
Externally the NSX shape has developed race by race, season to season to the demands of increasing aerodynamic downforce within the regulations. The most notable change is the position of the V6 engine, which is mounted longitudinally instead of transversely as per the roadcar. Similar to the setup used in modern Lamborghinis, the gearbox is located in the center tunnel under the cockpit and is connected to the rear differential by a driveshaft. Engines can either be turbocharged or naturally aspirated, depending on the class and on the rules.
Prior to rule changes beginning in the 2003 season, the Super GT/GT500 NSX was powered by a specially modified version of the C32B V6 engine. Using a stroker crankshaft from Toda Racing, the naturally aspirated engine displaced 3.5 liters and produced nearly 500 bhp. Beginning in 2003, Honda substituted a highly modified C30A, augmented by a turbocharger, which also produces up to 500 bhp.
The NSX continued to be used as the works Honda car in the GT500 class, even though it is no longer in production, until it was replaced in 2010 with the HSV-010. New 2014 regulations however will render the HSV-010 obsolete; Honda's 2014-spec GT500 car is to be based on the 2015 NSX, along with plans for a GTE version from 2015 onwards.
NSX competition vehicle during Super GT competition
Cars were entered by Raybrig and ARTA in the 2005 Super GT season, Castrol Mugen Motorsports in 2000, Loctite in 2001 and Epson in the 2007 Super GT season.
