Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars and grand tourers. It was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.
The firm became associated with luxury grand touring cars in the 1950s and 1960s, and with the fictional character James Bond following his use of a DB5 model in the 1964 film Goldfinger.
The company has had a chequered financial history, including bankruptcy in the 1970s, but has also enjoyed long periods of success and stability, including under the ownership of David Brown, from 1947 to 1972 and of the Ford Motor Company from 1994 to 2007.
In March 2007, a consortium of investors, led by David Richards, purchased 92% of Aston Martin for £479 million, with Ford retaining a £40 million stake. David Richards became chairman of Aston Martin. In December 2012, the Italian private equity fund Investindustrial signed a deal to buy 37.5% of Aston Martin, investing £150 million as a capital increase.

28 June 2021, Gaydon, UK: First came the revolutionary Aston Martin Valkyrie road car. Now comes the radical evolution, in the sensational form of the new Valkyrie AMR Pro: a machine which takes a car designed to win the Le Mans 24 Hours as its starting point, then pushes further to explore extremes of performance unconstrained by racing regulations or registration for road use.
In 2019, Aston Martin, Adrian Newey, Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) and engineering partner Multimatic worked intensively on an Aston Martin Valkyrie race car design, aimed at winning the 24H Le Mans race in the new Hypercar class. That well advanced design has now formed the basis of the radical new Valkyrie AMR Pro.
Where the original concept proposal - first seen at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show - was very much an exercise in squeezing as much performance from the road legal Valkyrie platform, the new Valkyrie AMR Pro benefits from the Le Mans project’s pure, race optimised chassis, aerodynamic and powertrain developments. Moreover, with its design and performance freed from race rule constraints, the AMR Pro’s capabilities now exceed those of the machine designed to challenge for outright victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Continuing the technology partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT), the Valkyrie AMR Pro is a car of unprecedented potency and mind-blowing capabilities. It uses a unique version of the Valkyrie chassis which is 380mm longer in wheelbase and 96mm wider in track at the front; 115mm at the rear. Valkyrie AMR Pro also features an aggressive aerodynamic package which adds an additional 266mm in length, and thanks to mastery of underbody and overwing airflow, generates extraordinary levels of downforce. Comfortably delivering twice the amount of downforce than the Valkyrie road car, the Valkyrie AMR Pro will achieve lateral acceleration of more than 3G.
In the pursuit of the lightest weight and fastest lap times, Valkyrie AMR Pro relies solely on a modified version of the sensational Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine. Revving to 11,000rpm, this masterpiece of internal combustion is on-target to develop 1000bhp. Weight savings will come from deletion of the battery-electric hybrid system, plus a host of other weight saving measures, including ultra-lightweight carbon fibre bodywork, carbon suspension wishbones and Perspex windscreen and side windows. Together with an aerodynamic efficiency that exceeds Le Mans Hypercar regulations, the Valkyrie AMR Pro promises track performance approaching that of a Formula 1® car.

The DB11 V12 is powered by an all-new 5,204 cc (5.2 L; 317.6 cu in) twin-turbocharged V12 engine called the AE31, making it the first turbocharged series-production Aston Martin. The new V12 retains conventional fuel injection and not direct injection because of worries over increased particulate output with DI petrols. Aston Martin also decided against a dry-sump lubrication system, instead optimizing a wet-sump design to perform under the high-g loading sustained when owners drive on a track. The engine has a power output of 608 PS (447 kW; 600 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 516 lb⋅ft (700 N⋅m) of torque between 1,500–5,000 rpm. The car is equipped with a rear-mounted 8-speed automatic transmission manufactured by ZF Friedrichshafen. The DB11 accelerates from 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) in 3.8 seconds and can attain a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph). In a road test conducted by Car and Driver, the DB11 accelerated from 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) in 3.6 seconds and ran the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds at a speed of 201 km/h (125 mph).

The 2020 Aston Martin Victor is a bespoke, one-off supercar developed by the company’s Q division. Built around a carbon-fiber monocoque from the One-77, a car that Aston Martin offered from 2009 to 2012, the Victor draws styling cues from the V8 Vantage of 1970s, as well as the race-spec DBS V8 (also known as the RHAM/1) that Aston Martin built in the late 1970s for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 2020 Victor is powered by a naturally aspirated V-12 also sourced from the One-77, but some drivetrain components come from the much newer Valkyrie supercar. Q by Aston Martin built just one, so it’s one of those supercars that you can only hope to see in the metal at a fancy auto show.

The Vantage v8 Amr Pro the first product in Aston Martin’s new AMR Pro range
The engine is actually in a state of tune that the engineers are calling ‘GT4 plus plus’ as, freed from regulations, they’ve been able to extract more from it. The 4.7-litre engine is putting out 509bhp at 7,250rpm and 415lb ft of torque at 6,000rpm, making it easily the most powerful V8 Vantage ever (although it still falls shy of the heavier GT12, which produces 592bhp). Performance is brisk but not gut-wrenching with 0-62mph taking four seconds dead.
The suspension is also from the GT4 race car with rose joints all round and there is obviously some serious downforce generated by the splitter and rear wing.
the car comes equipped with a road tyre too, albeit a highly capable Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.
Tested nurburgring time on pilot sport tire is 7:19 at 98% track grip and 80 degrees outside.

It’s the Vulcan, Aston Martin’s track-only, One-77-based answer to McLaren’s GTR and Ferrari’s FXX cars. It’s got 820bhp and, above 190mph, delivers more kilos of downforce than it weighs. Only 24 were made, each costing £1.8 million and several owners then spent a rumoured £300k converting them to road use.
The back story runs something like this: back in 2014, Fraser Dunn, the then chief engineer of Aston’s Q Advanced Engineering division, and David King, Director of Advanced Operations and Motorsport, got chatting about some old One-77 development prototypes that were kicking around. Unsurprisingly their first thought was to make a faster one. They envisioned a One-77 R.
The trouble was that the project that interested and excited them also bought out the small boys in almost every other department at Aston Martin. Design wanted a piece of the pie, and when they got the go ahead to make some sweeping changes, including shaping the bodywork in carbon instead of aluminium, every other department started pushing to make equally significant changes.
So the plan to use the existing 7.3-litre V12 was abandoned. Aston Martin Racing pointed out that they had a very potent 6.0-litre V12 running in the Vantage GT3 racer that, with a significant amount of modification (including gaining a litre of capacity), would deliver on one of the key parameters – over 800bhp. The 6949cc nat asp motor ended up with 820bhp at 7,750rpm and 575lb ft of torque at 6,500rpm. That all goes to the rear wheels via a six-speed Xtrac sequential racing paddleshift and magnesium torque tube. The carbon chassis is from the One-77, so to the sub-frames and basic suspension layout.

Based on the current V12 Vantage S yet strongly influenced by the race spec V12 Vantage GT3, the GT12 Special Edition boasts a weight saving of at least 100kg over the regular V12 ‘S’ version, and a power boost from 565 bhp to a whisker below the magic 600.
Almost all the bodywork of the GT12 is unique to the car, only the aluminium doors are common to the regular Vantage, the remainder is mostly made of lightweight carbon fibre. The aerodynamic additions to the car include a unique ‘horseshoe’ bonnet air intake, designed to send air along the side of the car and angled slats both behind the front and ahead of the rear wheels. The rear wing, largest fitted to a road going Aston Martin is actually optional but does provide so much downforce that the road going GT12 has more than the race spec Vantage GT4.
The inside has been well stripped out yet retains some creature comforts such as a fixed sat-nav screen. The seats are lightweight carbon fibre, manually adjusted, the interior has a covering of Alcantara, the door cards are single piece carbon items and the centre console also in carbon fibre has been taken from the Vanquish.

"A 77-car limited edition model from Aston Martin."
In the autumn of 2008, a camouflaged mockup of a car was displayed at the Aston Martin booth in the Paris Motor Show. This announced the development of what was to be a 77-car run on its new, ultra-exclusive, limited edition flagship. The fully rendered design of this model, appropriately dubbed the One-77, was shown at the spring 2009 Geneva Motor Show, and a production version followed soon after.
While it retains the handsome image of models such as the DB9 and DBS, its styling has been greatly modified both in shape and aerodynamics. At first glance, it may appear to be just a heavily modified production car; but in reality, the One-77 is a special model that has been newly developed, completely, from the ground up.
The chassis was developed together with Cosworth, based on the conventional 6-liter V12, and its 7,312 cc of displacement creates the most power – a whopping 749 BHP/553.3 lb-ft – of any normally aspirated engine to date. Aston's and Cosworth's collaboration also resulted in reducing engine size by 25 percent, thereby allowing it to be mounted 3 inches lower than most other V12 engines and nearly 10 inches behind the front axle. This greatly contributes to the agility of its handling and cornering performance.
The price tag was announced at £1.2 million in the UK ($1.9 million in the US), but all 77 cars sold out in just the one year since the start of its delivery in the beginning of 2011.

The Rapide name is a reference to the Lagonda Rapide, a four-door, four-seater saloon produced by Lagonda, now a part of Aston Martin. The new Rapide is the company's first 4-door fastback saloon since the Lagonda which was discontinued in 1990. The Rapide is based on the DB9 and is underpinned by the Aston Martin VH platform.
The first cars rolled off the production line in May 2010, initially built at a dedicated plant at the Magna Steyr facility in Graz, Austria. The factory initially planned to build 2,000 cars per year, but production was relocated to England in 2012 after sales did not meet production targets.

The Aston Martin DBS is a high-performance grand tourer based on the DB9 and manufactured by the British luxury automobile manufacturer Aston Martin.
Aston Martin has used the DBS name once before on their 1967–72 grand tourer coupé. The modern car replaced the 2004 Vanquish S as the flagship of the marque. The DBS ended production in 2012 and was succeeded by the second-generation of the Vanquish.
The DBS was officially unveiled at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on 16 August 2007,[4] which featured a brand new exterior colour (graphite grey with a blue tint) which has been dubbed "Lightning Silver", followed by 2007 Frankfurt motor show.

The 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish was the most exclusive vehicle built by the British company at the beginning of 2000. It was based on the 1998 Aston Martin Project Vantage concept car.
The Aston Martin Vanquish was designed by Ian Callum and it promised supercar performances into a classic design package. The idea behind the vehicle was to inject adrenaline into a Grand Tourer. Usually, any GT car was able to put down some good performances, but its main reason was a luxurious interior mated to a powerful engine able to soak up the roads. The Aston Martin Vanquish dared to be even more than that.
Inside, the Vanquish was available as a two-seater or in a 2+2 configuration. Just don't be fooled, the “+2” seats in the back were there only for taxation and insurance purposes. Other than that, they were good only to be used as an in-car storage area for a duffle bag. The interior was garnished with leather and aluminum. But the turn-signal and wiper stock were in cheap plastic, carried over from a Ford Fiesta (or Focus). The instrument cluster featured three large dials in chromed rims and two LED displays. The paddle shifters for the standard automatic transmission were neatly placed behind the steering wheel.

The V8 Cygnet feels much less compromised than it should be after such a radical organ transplant. Its cabin has lost the two-plus-one seating layout that the regular Cygnet shared with the iQ, and instead there is a pair of Recaro race buckets mounted within the protection of a structure-strengthening roll cage. The relocated firewall creates an offset driving position, with the pedals set at what soon proves to be an ankle-cricking angle. But everything else is smart and well finished, with a carbon-fiber dashboard, Vantage instruments, and the sports car's gear-selection buttons in place of the cheap Toyota shifter in the regular Cygnet. There's even a fly-off emergency brake positioned between the front seats.
The engine is fired to life using Aston's trademark glass key fob—something else the regular Cygnet didn't get—and from the get-go, enough noise enters the cabin to explain the lack of any other audio system. It's hot as well, staying sticky in the modest heat of an English summer's day despite the best efforts of the air-conditioning system. The ride is firm, and the short wheelbase means that, over certain frequencies of rough surfaces, it takes on the choppy heave of a small boat in heavy seas.
But none of that matters. To drive this car is to realize that it can hurt to grin too much. Aston claims that, being around 550 pounds lighter than the Vantage S, the V8 Cygnet can actually outaccelerate that coupe. We didn't confirm the claimed 4.2-second zero-to-60-mph time, and certainly never got close to Aston's terrifying assertion of a 170-mph top speed, but those numbers do feel believable from the driver's seat, the sensation of speed enhanced by the bellowing soundtrack and the nose-up attitude the car adopts under full throttle.
The Cygnet's dynamic cues share much with the Vantage S. The steering possesses similar weighting and the talkative feel of the donor car, with the throttle delivering the same proportional responses. The automated manual transmission has lost some refinement—not a quality it ever possessed in abundance—with hesitancy between gears and a tendency to get confused if multiple instructions from the shift paddles come too close together. But we quickly gained the knack of timing shifts carefully and lifting the throttle to smooth upshifts.
With the combination of its short wheelbase and a lack of stability control (apparently at the new owner's request), the V8 Cygnet needs to be treated with a healthy degree of respect. Combining throttle application with any significant degree of steering input creates the unmistakable sensation of the rear end running short of grip, not a dynamic trait we wanted to explore in greater depth on public roads in an irreplaceable one-off. But the biggest driving challenge is the more prosaic one of getting used to the difference between the car's apparent width when sitting in the narrow cabin and how much wider it actually is.
As part of the deal to make the V8 Cygnet, Aston promised its new owner that it would never make another. But if there is anyone out there with an equally bonkers ambition for an Aston product and sufficient funds to make it a reality, they are invited to get in touch with the Q division to discuss it. A V12 Cygnet, perhaps?
This jewel is brought to you by Johnathan Stadler.

As well as an uprated engine, other modifications available for the car are numerous and include ultra lightweight hollow spoke magnesium Dymag wheels, giant brake discs with circumferential cooling grooves plus AP racing callipers, stack digital instruments and reworked suspension with Eibach springs, adjustable Koni’s and a stiffer anti-roll bar. Many cars also have a five speed close ratio manual transmission although it is possible to see V600’s with automatic transmission.
Central to the V600 is this, the most powerful Aston Martin road car engine of all time until it was toppled by the One-77. Essentially, this final version of the Tadek Marek V8 features performance engineering of the charge air intake cooling system, increased boost pressure and a big bore sports exhaust, described by AML as ‘Super Sport’. The engine was auctioned at the AML/Bonhams auction in 2003 and reached £16,000 plus buyers premium. This represented not only a fraction of the cost of the engine but a fraction of the conversion cost too.
So far as is known, Aston Martin Works have converted in excess of 80 engines to V600 spec including regular V8 Vantage, Special Series Cars, Vantage Le Mans and Special Edition Vantage Volantes. That said, Works have also stated that only 9 standard V8 Vantages were made V600 immediately after first registration. Even now, Works are still able and capable to upgrade any supercharged Vantage to V600 spec, 16 years after the modification was first introduced.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a British grand tourer, a higher performance version of the Aston Martin V8. It was hailed at its 1977 introduction as "Britain's First Supercar" for its 170 mph (270 km/h) top speed. Its engine was shared with the Lagonda, but it used high-performance camshafts, increased compression ratio, larger inlet valves and bigger carburettors mounted on new manifolds for increased output. Straight-line performance was the best of the day, with acceleration from 0–60 mph (97 km/h) in 5.3 seconds, one-tenth of a second quicker than the Ferrari Daytona.

Aston Martin is to introduce a new generation of competitive Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and GT4 race cars to customer teams in 2019 that will be based on the critically-acclaimed next generation Vantage road car and the GTE version, set to make its debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.
The two new cars, designed and built at Aston Martin Racing’s headquarters in Banbury, will replace the ultra-successful Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 and V8 Vantage GT4, currently raced by customer teams around the world. The outgoing examples represent AMR’s most successful racing cars, and they continue to set the standards by winning races and leading championships in GT series around the world 12 years after the first customer car was purchased.
In total, 42 V12 Vantage GT3s were built and of those 37 were sold. The car had proved extraordinarily popular with customers and has a glorious roll of honour that includes three British GT Championships (2013, ’15 and ’16), the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup ProAM title and the Blancpain GT Asian Series. The GT4, of which 124 were built, has a similar pedigree with British GT Championship wins in 2014 and ‘15 and the North European GT4 ProAm title in 2016.
Both the new Vantage GT3 and GT4 will feature race-modified versions of the 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine used in Aston Martin’s next generation sports car. Moreover, the Vantage GT3 will draw heavily on the design logic used in the development of the Vantage GTE, which was developed in tandem with the road car over the past 18 months.
The Vantage GT3 and GT4 will be homologated for racing from the 1st March 2019 and Aston Martin Racing is already taking orders for the cars.
Aston Martin Racing Managing Director John Gaw said: “We are very proud of the heritage we have established as a leading supplier of customer GT cars, with customers racing our cars all around the world. We told the clients who first purchased our GT3 cars seven years ago, that they would be buying a car that would be capable of winning races for years to come. This year we have already proved that with the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3’s successes in the British GT Championship. That longevity is something that separates us from other manufacturers. I expect the new GT3 and GT4 to be just as competitive as the cars they are replacing and to remain so for a similar period of time.”
David King, President, Aston Martin Racing, added: “In motorsport the qualities you’re most striving for are a competitive edge, driveability and the durability to deliver upon it. We’ve been able to deliver this to our customers for more than a decade with our Vantage GT4 and more recently with the V12 Vantage GT3. In the new Vantage GT3 and GT4, we intend to build on those attributes as well as continuing to deliver the best looking cars in the paddock.

Comprehensively re-engineered, as well as significantly restyled, the GT3-inspired special edition is lower and wider than any of its siblings in the Vantage family. A broader track – front and rear – brings even more composed cornering thanks to a reduction in lateral load transfer, while the use of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres provides even more assured handling.
Thoroughly equipped with cutting edge motorsport-inspired features, from the extensive use of carbon fibre inside and out to the track-focused aerodynamics pack – which includes a prominent rear wing and pronounced front splitter – the race-derived new Vantage brings more focused and uncompromising capability and styling to a road-going Aston Martin.
The aerodynamics package in particular has a profound effect, producing significant downforce to provide even greater levels of grip and stability at higher speeds.
Inspired by Aston Martin Racing’s successful campaigns, this new GT3-derived Vantage has been designed and engineered exclusively at Aston Martin’s Gaydon Headquarters in Warwickshire, England, to be the most overt expression of everything that defines Vantage: an inspirational sports model offering supreme driveability on the road, and uncompromising dynamic performance on track.

Competing in the SP8 category, the V12 Zagatos; near production standard cars with only essential safety and aerodynamic modifications required for racing, took 2nd and 3rd place in class, equating to 15th and 39th overall in field of some 150 largely specialist cars.
The two V12 Zagatos affectionately nicknamed "Zig" (green car) and "Zag" (red car) competed in the 39th ADAC Nürburgring 24-hour race, held on 25–26 June. The two factory backed cars both completed the race, finishing 5th and 6th in the SP8 class.
The red car also raced at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed on 1–3 July. Driven by Aston Martin head designer, Marek Reichman, the car recorded a best time of 61.21 to finish 15th in the overall shootout.
On 17 October "Zig" was part of a collaboration between Aston Martin and Toyota at the VLN9 DMV 250-Meilen-Rennen. During the race drivers of both the V12 Zagato and Lexus LFA, which included the CEO of Aston Martin and President of Toyota, had an opportunity to drive both cars.

The Aston Martin DBR9 is a racing car built by Aston Martin Racing, debuting in 2005 and racing actively in international sportscar racing until the end of GT1 category in 2011. The name DBR9 is derived from the original 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning DBR1 car, named for then-owner David Brown, which not only won the 24 Hour race in 1959 but also the World Sportscar title. The car is most famous for taking two LMGT1 class wins at Le Mans 24 Hours (2007 and 2008) by the Aston Martin Racing factory team.

The Lola-Aston Martin B09/60, also known as the Aston Martin DBR1-2, is a Le Mans Prototype sports car built by Lola Cars International and co-developed with Prodrive for use by Aston Martin Racing. It is the first prototype to bear the Aston Martin name since the AMR1 in 1989. Aston Martin's internal name for the car, DBR1-2, refers to the specific DBR1 chassis which won six races in 1959 en route to clinching the World Sportscar Championship as well as that year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

To meet the new regulations brought in by the ACO for endurance racing, the AMR-One is powered by a downsized, 2.0-litre turbocharged straight six petrol engine and features a blade-fin behind the cockpit. The AMR-One is built around a light carbon fibre monocoque chassis with open top bodywork, in contrast to the closed cockpits of the contemporary Peugeot 908 and Audi R18.
The car has a very high belt-line, broad shapes and few surface breaks. The front of the car is designed to develop minimal downforce and to force as much air into the ducts. The air then moves through the car instead of over the top. There are numerous ducts inside the high bodywork, one for brake cooling, two through the side vents and one for rear gearbox cooling. One air scoop is in place to feed the turbocharger. Two side ducts on the rear of the car are for rear-brake cooling. The exhaust exits at the bottom of the vertical fin.

For the 2012 season, Aston Martin Racing returned to a GT based program, after an ill-fated attempt the previous season with their LMP1 class petrol-powered contender, the AMR-One. With the Vantage GT2's specification varying slightly from the updated Le Mans GT2 (now GTE) regulations, development took place with the car relaunched as the Vantage GTE.
